Ultimo (ウルティモ, Urutimo) is one of the main protagonists and opposite of the central antagonist, Vice, making him the embodiment of ultimate good. He is the leader of The Good Dôji Club, and his master is Yamato Agari, who was also his master in the 12th century.

Appearance

Ultimo is a scarlet-themed dôji, having light green eyes with red pupils and two transparent, red visors frame each of his eyes. He has spikey red hair and his skin is also said to be so white and smooth that it appears almost like he’s made of porcelain. Ultimo's facial features are very child-like to the point that when he smiles, they are almost effeminate.

The clothes that he wears are of the highest quality, featuring both a small black shirt and a white hakama, with printed gray wing designs, tied with a green sash. A large piece of black fabric hangs from the center of the sash, embellished with the images of three golden origami cranes. Outwardly; only two large and deep red gauntlets on his arms, with ornate multicolored designs, belie the fact that he isn't human.

In his human form, Ultimo first seen in dark shorts with overall straps, dark stockings, a dark tie and a light shirt, since he was dressed for Shin Ekoda's funeral, and his hair combed down. Afterwards, Ultimo was given many dresses to wear from Fushimi Agari.

Robot Crest

After preforming the Pledge Ritual with his master, Ultimo's Robot Crest (Karakuri Mon) appears surrounding the entirety of the person's right forearm, taking the form of an ornate image of a crane, consisting of its head and wings.

Personality

As Ultimo is the incarnation of ultimate good, both his actions and personality exemplify all the characteristics that are universally considered good, such as kindness and honesty. These qualities have a constant and unwavering influence upon his motives and judgments, meaning he holds chivalry and honor in the highest regards. However, as noted by Vice, this leaves him unable to perform such acts that would contradict his true nature, such as a sneak attack. These influences are also the foundation of his protectiveness, which extends much further than his master, but to anyone he deems to possess goodness within them.

Ultimo usually is cheerful, dutiful and polite around his friends and allies while possessing some child-like traits that makes him considers cute and sweet by others. Ultimo even often refers to himself in third-person, something only young children do in Japan, or just as his nickname "Ulti".

Chapter 22 Ultimo's Dark Side

Ultimo's darker side is shown after killing Lady Gekko.

However, as he was created based on Roger Dunstan's idea of good, it is also apparent that because of this, he is very innocent: so innocent that he fails to discriminate between the morality with some of his actions, such as when he was tricked by Vice to kill Lady Gekko, since during the 12th Century he fought alongside Yamato to defeat the corrupted nobles of the era.

With his deadly innocent and immaturity, Ultimo has shown to have a darker and more merciless side, mostly in battle or when it comes to Yamato, whom he acts rather emotionally to if he is hurt, such in his fight with Jealous when his temper got the better of him and nearly destroy Jealous. The most evident of Ultimo's extremist behavior (even it if wasn't fully intentional) was when Ultimo killed Lady Gekko, because Vice manipulated Ultimo's jealously towards her for being Yamato's wife under the pretense that she would corrupted Yamato. Although, Ultimo regretted what he did and didn't want the current Yamato to find out, but that doesn't stop others to remind him of what he did (notably Regla) and call him "horrible" because of it. Yamato has also states that Ultimo's "immature" good could just be as bad as evil.

Biography

The 30th Century

Created in the year 2989 A.D of the 30th Century, Ultimo was made as the embodiment of "pure good" by genius scientist, Roger Dunstan, for the sole purpose of his One Hundred Machine Funeral. Together with his evil counterpart Vice, the two slumbering Karakuri Dôji were whisked into the timestream by their creator to find appropriate masters for them and began facilitating his plans.

The 12th Century

Placed in a wooden box, the inactivated Ultimo and Vice were taken to the Heian period of feudal Japan and was inadvertently awaken by Yamato, a young bandit attempting rob Dunstan. Under the impression that Dunstan was a trader and the two dôji were dolls, Yamato opened their boxes, with Ultimo opening his eyes after Dunstan asked him if Yamato was a suitable master for him. Using his highly advance technology to look through Yamato's memories, Ultimo summarize the bandit's actions were forgivable in consideration of his difficult life yet deemed him too violent to be his master. Ignoring Yamato's fellow bandits panicking over him, Ultimo quietly observed Yamato threating his creator, the former now believing Ultimo and Vice were children being sold to the corrupted nobles of the era.

When an angered Vice started rampaging for being woken up, Ultimo stood aside as he began killing Yamato's bandits and witnessed Yamato's bravery in standing up against his evil brethren and willingness to sacrifice himself for his friends. Upon seeing the deep comradery Yamato and his gang hold for each other, Ultimo was moved by their goodness of heart and decided to protect them, deeming them undeserving of death. Blocking a killing blow, Ultimo attempted to talk Vice down, reasoning that he already killed six and any more would be senseless cruelty. He also threaten kill Vice if he didn't stop, which only provoked the evil dôji into accepting Ultimo's challenge. After Ultimo chased Vice away, Ultimo changed his initial opinion of Yamato and eventually preformed the Pledge Ritual with, thus making him Ultimo's master. Utilizing his strength as an Karakuri Dôji, Ultimo proved to be a great asset to Yamato; spending the next three years training with him, helping him expand his bandit group, and gathering materials and resources all in preparation for an attack on the capital city to kill the corrupted nobles. On the night of the attack, Ultimo played with some the orphans as Yamato oversaw his army's preparations before being summoned. Knowing many people will died in the battle, Yamato told Ultimo he didn't have to join him, but Ultimo assured him that he will fight by his side and fulfill his purpose in learning how distinguish good and evil.

At night, Ultimo rode on a horse with Yamato as the army marched to Raseimon gate and encountered Jealous, another of Dunstan's Karakuri Dôji. After deflecting an attack, Ultimo was shocked to find another dôji, who explained his purpose of filling the gap between good and evil. Since Jealous was a newer model, he mocked Ultimo for being "obsolete" and derisively addressed him as "Brother" before kicking Ultimo off the horse. Using his rockets to stabilize himself, Ultimo grew angry when Jealous held Yamato hostage and warned his sibling to step away from his master. Jealous was unfazed by Ultimo and told them that the One Hundred Machine Funeral would be beginning soon. After Tomomitsu Iruma and Jealous went into their ICON mode, Ultimo and Yamato engaged the evil duo in battle and defeated them, allowing the bandits to entered the capital and overthrow the nobles. In the following day, Ultimo withdrew from the capital with his master and the others, but was displeased with the presence of Lady Gekko, a young noble woman in love with Yamato. When Yamato questioned what to do with her, Ultimo flatly pointed out that Lady Gekko was part of the nobility that Yamato deemed "evil" and they shouldn't bring her along, but Yamato chided Ultimo for his generalization since Lady Gekko was different from the rest. Lady Gekko admitted that she played a part of letting the land suffered, but vowed to do better by the masses alongside Yamato - an gesture that moved him to reciprocated her affections and earned a dark glare from Ultimo.

Soon after, Ultimo's beloved master eventually married the noble woman, thought many of Yamato's bandits were uncomfortable their leader's new wife due to her roots and their relationship caused Ultimo to developed a deeply buried jealously towards her. Furthermore, even the bandits privately expressed pity towards Ultimo's situation since he was the reason for their success yet still does all the domestic chores for them and that he no longer enjoyed the same closeness with Yamato he had before. One day, Ultimo went to do laundry alone by a lake and was found by Vice and his master, the dethroned Emperor Kotsutsubo. When Ultimo was about to call for Yamato, Vice assured him that he wasn't going to fight, but to "warn" Ultimo about Lady Gekko. Knowing Ultimo's jealously towards her, Vice remarked how she "stole" Yamato from him and that the negative emotions he harbored would make him evil. While Ultimo despaired over the thought of turning evil, Vice and Kotsutsubo also mentioned he saw Lady Gekko secretly buying clothes for herself, stating it was proof that Lady Gekko was taking advantaged Yamato and the other bandits. Vice proclaimed that Lady Gekko would corrupt Yamato and the bandits unless Ultimo does something, prompting to Ultimo to killed his master’s wife in cold blood. After Yamato discovered what he done, Ultimo came to realize the gravity of his actions and pain the it caused to his master, deeply regretting what he did.

After Lady Gekko's death, Ultimo, Yamato, and the bandits went to a temple ran by monk Ekobo and requested for him to hold her funeral. With the other bandits in attendance, Ultimo quietly observed Yamato discussing his actions with the monk, with Yamato blaming himself for not teaching Ultimo better and paying more attention to him. However, Ekobo, while expressing his condolences for Yamato's loss, pointed out that Ultimo believed he was doing the right since he was taught all nobles were evil and Yamato's army killed many people for their own brand of justice. Although the other bandits were miffed by the monk's words and believed Ultimo that need to punished for his misdeed, Ekobo encouraged Yamato to forgive the scarlet dôji instead, though the grieving Yamato was hesitant in deciding what to do with him. Ekobo then revealed that he was the master of the Karakuri Dôji, Regla, who questioned what Yamato want to do since he purposely chosen to the temple due to the rumors helping visitors forget their sad memories. Regla informed Yamato can't be the only one to have his memories erased because Ultimo might make the same mistake if he kept his memories too. Overcome with guilt, Ultimo agreed to have his memories modify since it was painful for him to be around his master. Before they could further discuss what to do, Vice and Kotsutsubo attacked the temple, hoping to take down Yamato and Ultimo since their bond was shattered, but Ekobo and Regla intercepted them in their ICON. Upon seeing God Regla losing the fight, Yamato tried roused Ultimo so they could help them, but Ultimo was too ashamed to join him. Recalling Ekobo's words, Yamato told Ultimo that he was forgiven and, with their bond repaired, the duo set out to battle Vice.

The outcome of the battle was unknown, but Ultimo and Yamato were presumably able to drive Vice and Kotsutsubo off, but Ekobo was killed in the battle, leaving Regla to take Saya as his next master.

The 21st Century

Part I

Centuries after Yamato's death, Ultimo was eventually came to the 21st Century, arriving at the same as Vice in Farmless City. Soon after landing in the city, Vice went on a rampage in his ICON mode and started destroying everything in sight, but Ultimo was able to protect the innocent civilians. After telling the policeman to focus evacuating bystanders, Ultimo focused on his evil counterpart, prioritizing in neutralizing Vice's attacks, and their fighting lead them into flying into the stratosphere. The two dôji ended up gravely injuring each other, with Ultimo managing to severed Vice's arm, but Ultimo fell unconsciously back to Earth. Ultimo landed on Mt. Fuji, creating a sizeable carter from the impact, and shut down due to lacking a master to give him the energy to heal. Unknown to Ultimo, he was picked up by Taiji Kokubun, the owner of antique Kokubundo Shoppe. Thinking Ultimo was a doll that was thrown away, Kokubun took Ultimo back to his shop and placed him in glass case, where Ultimo would stayed for the next year. By May 6 of 2012, Ultimo finally awakened when Yamato Agari, the teenaged reincarnation of the bandit Yamato, came near his proximity sphere.

Overjoyed to see his master, Ultimo literally leap through glass and hugged the extremely confused Yamato, shocking Kokubun and Yamato's friend, Rune Kodaira. Being close to his old master, Ultimo's body finally healed from all the damage he sustained from his battle with Vice, despite not having reenact the Pledge Ritual yet. However, since Yamato did not any memories of him, Ultimo grew sad that his master mistaken him as a child. Ultimo explained their past together and the importance of stopping Vice, but Yamato didn't believed anything he said and was more focus in finding a present for his crush, Makoto Sayama. Thinking Ultimo was playing a game, Yamato scolded Kokuban for leaving his "grandson" in a display case and quickly left the store. Against Yamato's wishes, Ultimo followed Yamato and Rune during their bus ride to school, which was then attack by Vice. Ultimo was able to save his master and the passengers by throwing Vice's aim off when he attempted to bisect the bus in two. In order to prevent them from crashing, Ultimo held the two halves and the commotion drew attention of many bystanders. Ultimo sensed that Vice's power level meant he found a master already and tried to search for him in the crowd, though the evil dôji ridiculed Ultimo's efforts since he knew Ultimo didn't have the ruthlessness to harm his master. Since Ultimo couldn't attack with his hands full and didn't have a master yet, Vice stabbed Ultimo near his spirit sphere, prompting a furious Yamato to confront him. When Yamato foolishly attempted to hit Vice with his school bag, Ultimo took advantaged of the distraction and bisected Vice before the two made physical contact with each other. However, Ultimo's body motion caused his spirit sphere to cracked, making him shut down once again.

Since Ultimo was no longer holding the bus up, an explosion occurred around the area, though Yamato came out unscathed and took the unconscious Ultimo in his possession. Despite the protests of Rune, Yamato fled the police with Ultimo and took him back to his apartment. Yamato inspected Ultimo's damages and believed the best way to heal him was to make the Pledge Ritual, despite not knowing what it was. Reading into the romantic connotations of words, Yamato thought kissing Ultimo might wake him up and was prepared to do so. However, Ultimo opened his eyes before Yamato do anything as just Sayama arrived, who wanted to check on Yamato when he didn't come to school. Due to their compromising position, Yamato was extremely embarrassment and fainted from shock after Sayama left, leaving Ultimo to fret over his master. After settling Yamato down, Ultimo choose to napped together with his master, but eventually woken up while Yamato was showering. Falling into his old routine, Ultimo cooked a lavish meal for his master and then inquired he wanted help bathing. Upset by being uninvited by his crush and the mess he was involved in, Yamato flatly rejected Ultimo and told him to leave, which caused the dôji to literally flied out of the apartment in tears. However, Ultimo eventually turned back to the apartment, sensing Yamato was in trouble, and found that Jealous had inflicted a deep wound on his master.

Livid by the scene, Ultimo gently assured his master he won't him die and then furiously blast Jealous with his Karakuri Henge, sending the evil dôji flying outside. Sporting a dangerously dark glare, Ultimo warned Jealous to leave or he would unleased his full power on him. When Jealous snidely remarked Ultimo's aggressiveness, Ultimo simply slammed him into a nearby tower, asking if Jealous wished to die. As Jealous attempted to retaliated, Ultimo easily broke his gauntlet and smashed him into the ground, drawing the neighbors' attention. Seeing how cracked his body was, Ultimo attacked Jealous more and ridiculed his decision to fight without a master, proclaiming his intention burn him with his rocket boosters. Wary of how violent Ultimo was, Yamato ordered him to stop since Jealous cannot move anymore, snapping Ultimo out his trance. Realizing what he had done, Ultimo grew upset that he gave into his darker impulses again, alluding to his role in Lady Gekko's death. While Ultimo was distracted, Jealous planned to counterattack, but Regla announced his presence the others, telling him not to hurt Ultimo since his life has already been spared. After remarking on Ultimo's level of destruction, Regla then slapped the former across the face, sternly scolding Ultimo for losing his temper and being irresponsible since he was the greatest of the good Karakuri Dôji and need to conduct himself better. Ultimo apologized to his brethren just as Regla's master, Shin "Eco" Ekoda appeared to tell Ultimo and Yamato to come with him before the police arrive.

Due to the excessive blood loss, Yamato fainted before he could answer Eco, leaving Ultimo alone with the newcomers. On Eco's request, Ultimo stayed behind while he and Regla patch Yamato up and take him to their hideout in their mountains. Wanting to test Yamato to see if was a worthy master for Ultimo and a good leader for The Good Dôji Club, Ultimo agreed with their request, making sure to tell Yamato that Ultimo only stayed behind to clean up the mess he caused. Hours later, Ultimo heard Yamato calling out to him for help and to beat Eco and Regla, due to the latter being led to believing the duo were bad people. Crashing through window and landing on Yamato's back, Ultimo obeyed his master's command by cheerfully and lightly hitting Regla on the head, much to Yamato's bewilderment. Ultimo then chide Yamato for giving out such orders, stating it was unbecoming for the master of the greatest good dôji, though added that he was happy that Yamato rely on him. As Eco and the other masters shown themselves to Yamato, Ultimo stood by bashfully as they explained the situation, especially when they asked if Ultimo and Yamato done the Pledge Ritual yet. Still thinking the Pledge Ritual has a romantic connotation, Yamato impulsively punched Eco out of embarrassment as Ultimo tried to calm the former down, making the others realized Yamato's lack of knowledge and the two haven't done it. The others members stressed the importance of increasing their fighting power and started pressuring Yamato to complete the ceremony with Ultimo. In a separate room, Ultimo explained to Yamato how the ceremony worked and was ready to begin, but Yamato was too nervous and went outside to think. After a while, Ultimo went to check on Yamato and noticed he was struggling to comprehend the Karakuri Dôji. Wanting to help, Ultimo informed him of his origins and The 30th Century, but it caused Yamato to be more confused due the time travel elements involved. Ultimo stated the best way to understand was through the Pledge Ritual, which motivated Yamato to regained his composure and resolved to do the ceremony. Before doing, Yamato considerately asked Ultimo if he truly wanted him to be his master again, a gesture the deeply moved Ultimo. With both parties' consent, Ultimo and Yamato started the ritual, allowing Yamato to see visions of his past, present and future. However, not wanting drive a rift between their bond, Ultimo chosen to withheld memories concerning Lady Gekko from Yamato during the process.

Following the ceremony's completion, Ultimo and Yamato discussed matters with the other members for a time, but Yamato eventually left for the night and went home, leaving the former to stay in the mountain base alone. The next morning, Ultimo heard Yamato calling for him from Senjo Academy and flew right over to find Yamato being challenged to a fight by members of The Evil Dôji Branch, Hana Koganei and Edile. While Hana and Edile attacked first, Ultimo easily sliced off Edile's arm, with Yamato warning the evil duo to leave or they will break Edile retaliation. After dealing with his friends, Yamato leaped down to Ultimo to transformed into their ICON mode - God Ultimo. Hana and Edile attempted to stopped their transformation, but Ultimo and Yamato put up a barrier to protect themselves and the school from any damage. Yamato gave the duo one last chance to leave, but young child refused to give up, so Yamato quickly ended the battle by using Ultimo's Time-Space manipulation to reverted Edile to his normal, smaller form. Since Hana fainted, God Ultimo caught her in his hand and demanded that Edile come with them for interrogation. However, Rune stepped in and ordered God Ultimo let them go or he'll kill Yamato's classmates, revealing that he was Jealous's new master and he webbed up all the students. Following the revelation of Rune being Lady Gekko's reincarnation and his declaration of love towards Yamato, God Ultimo engaged in an ICON battle with Demon Spider, but Yamato was distracted by his friends and was pinned down. While stabbing and electrocuting God Ultimo, Rune viciously announced his intent to kill Ultimo and told Yamato that his dôji was deceiving him by not showing Yamato all his memories concerning their 12th century relationship. Shocked that his dôji would hide something from him, Yamato recalled the moments when Ultimo displayed guilt of something that happened in the past, though Ultimo urged his master not to listen to Rune.

When the police arrived, God Ultimo took advantaged of Demon Spider's lapse in attention to teleported them away to the forest around Mt. Fuji. While Rune mocked Yamato for choosing such stage for their fight and how his shaken trust in Ultimo had weaken their ICON, Yamato stated that he still trust his dôji more than him and that the Good Dôji Club was in the area as well. Despite the outnumbering Rune and Jealous, Yamato promised him to have a fair one-on-one fight and the two ICONS restarted the battle in earnest. As the two ICONS traded blows, Yamato tried to talk Rune down, but only to tearfully enraged him after turning down his feelings instead, leading the latter to proclaimed that he was willing let all of them die fighting just rid himself of his all-consuming envy. Baffled by his friend's extreme behavior, Yamato angrily attempted to attack Rune from behind, but was pierced through the abdomen instead since Jealous's Noh allowed Rune to know God Ultimo's every move. Holding Ultimo's spirit sphere in his grasp, Rune threaten Ultimo's life to coerced Yamato into complying to his demands. However, Yamato's sincere affections for his best friend affected Rune's mentality, nearly swaying him into backing down from hurting Ultimo. Vice then appeared and slashed Demon Spider in half, leaving Rune and Jealous to dismantled their ICON and collapsed to the ground, but freeing Ultimo's spirit sphere from their grasp.

Furious over their condition, Yamato vowed to make Vice and his master, K pay, and then engaged in ICON battle with them. Not wanting either parties to die, Eco and Regla tried to stopped the them, but was intercepted by Fusataro Fussa and Rage, though their sudden appearance and Eco's fatal stabbing did caused God Ultimo and Demon Mask to ceased fighting. The other members of the Evil Dôji Branch soon swarmed the area and took his allies hostage, preventing God Ultimo from taking action against them and Yamato quickly overwhelmed by turn of events. After the rest of the Good Dôji Club were massacred, Yamato was left in a state of shock, leaving God Ultimo being unable to fight back as Demon Mask beat them down. In a desperate attempt to reverse their fate, Yamato began using the remaining energy in God Ultimo to manipulated Space-Time just as Eco had Regla used his Noh simultaneously to make sure Yamato and Musashi remember these events in the new timeline to avoid making any mistakes.

Part II

Due to turning back time to the morning of May 6, the day before the One Hundred Machine Funeral, Ultimo was once again asleep in the glass case at the Kokubundo Shoppe. Although Yamato had the opportunity to wake Ultimo up, he choose not to so that he could live normally and not trigger any mayhem. By nightfall, Tomomitsu Iruma and Jealous, who was disguised as a human, located Ultimo and attempting to purchase him from Kokubun. During a tussle between Yamato, who came to retrieve his dôji, and the evil duo, Ultimo awaken when entered his proximity and saved his master from being impaled by Jealous. After snapping brethren's gauntlet, Ultimo happily greeted his master and was overjoyed by Yamato's warm welcomed, emotionally moving him to hugged Yamato and inadvertently dig fallen glass into his skin. Not wanting Yamato and Ultimo to complete the Pledge Ritual, Iruma and Jealous transformed to their ICON, causing the store to collapsed around them. Yamato ordered Ultimo to get them out of the shop, which Ultimo happily complied and flew them and Kokubun away from their pursuers.

When Yamato remarked on the particular form of their Ground Spider ICON, Ultimo explained how ICON mode worked to his master. In an attempt shake off Ground Spider, Ultimo weave through between buildings, but Jealous' Noh allowed Ground Spider to intercept them. Since he was carrying Yamato and Kokubun hampered his mobility, Ultimo was unable to defend everyone properly and got his arm rip off when he tried to attack Ground Spider, resulting in Ground Spider entrapping them in a web. Opening Ground Spider's cockpit, Iruma smugly mocked Yamato and proclaimed his intention in taking Ultimo from him, but became distracted and went on a temperamental rant when he notice innocent bystanders staring at them. When Yamato expressed confused towards Iruma's sudden tirade, Ultimo remark that Iruma's behavior was linked to their past lives. Ultimo and others was soon saved by Musashi Murayama and Sophia, although the former claimed he only came to destroy Ultimo in order to prolong the One Hundred Machine Funeral. Yamato chide Musashi for saying such things towards his Karakuri Dôji, but Musashi lectured Yamato for his obliviousness of how "horrible" Ultimo can be, an allusion that greatly sadden the crimson dôji since he knew Musashi was referring his murder of Lady Gekko. After being freed by the webbings and Musashi stalling Ground Spider, Ultimo and Yamato reenacted the Pledge Ritual and transformed into God Ultimo to begin time traveling in order to learn more about the dôji.

While traveling in the time dimension in his Crane Plane form, Ultimo told Yamato he won't be joining him to his trip because Karakuri Dôji cannot exist across different time periods and that Yamato has a 12 hour time limit because Ultimo's synergy with him was still new and didn't have enough power for an extended stay. Ultimo explained to Yamato that he must not alter the timeline in any way and he must return within the time limit or he'll be stranded in the 12th century forever. Upon asking Yamato for his specific destination, Ultimo dropped his master off on April 14, 1182 - the day when Iruma first got Jealous. When Yamato returned to him, Ultimo expressed concern of his master's swollen face, which Yamato received during a confrontation with Dunstan, but Yamato shrugged it off. Out of consideration for him, Yamato inquired if Ultimo was willing battle his creator when the time came, which he affirmed since the dôji must obey their masters. However, Yamato was slightly bothered by Ultimo's answer because didn't want to force Ultimo into anything, as well as stressing over everything he still had to do back home and the lack of knowledge he had on the dôji. Returning to the exact moment they left, God Ultimo were greeted by Musashi, who told them to rest and leave the "clean up" of Iruma and Jealous to him.

When Musashi revealed that he planned to have Iruma's memories of today's events wiped by Regla and damaged Jealous to the point be won't pose a danger, Yamato was opposed to this and stopped God Sophia from hurting them. While the two argued with each other, Ground Spider took opportunity to stabbed God Sophia and injuring them to the point that they collapsed. Infuriated, God Ultimo prepared to attack, but their ICON came apart due Ultimo's low energy level, leaving Yamato to fall out naked and defenseless. With Ultimo unconscious, Yamato cradled his dôji in his arms and soon blacked out as well from exhaustion, both surviving due Jealous turning on Iruma before he could hurt good duo them. Ultimo and others were then retrieved by their comrades, Hiroshi Kumegawa and Machi Shina, and were taken to Koun Shakujii and Pardonner to be heal. By the time Yamato woke, Ultimo was still shut down and was carried to Eco Sushi, entrusting Eco to keep an eye on Ultimo's prone body while Yamato left to spend time with his friends.

Part III

By late evening, Ultimo retrieved by Darumada Masami, who received memories of his life past from Eco and remembered his relations with Ultimo and Yamato, and was taken to Tokoro Building, which belonged to Hyoe Tokorozawa's (Hyottoko's modern reincarnation). Due to Yamato remembering Ultimo's murder of Lady Gekko by then, he was having mixed feelings toward the latter, but Hyoe, Darumada, and their allies encouraged Yamato to remembered the past and then decide whether he can be with Ultimo. After recollecting his past self forgiving Ultimo, Yamato resolved to do the same in the present and awakened his dôji. After being updated to all the events he missed while asleep and gathering up all their new allies, The Good Dôji Club then traveled to Sparrow Place, with Ultimo and Yamato flying there in their ICON.

God Ultimo arrived to find Dunstan and Milieu in their own ICON and a beaten Vice in his ICON in their grasp. Although Vice was didn't care for their presence, God Ultimo challenged Dunstan to a fight and was able to land a punch thanks to Service's Noh briefly negating Dunstan's powers. With Dunstan throw off-balanced, God Sophia attempted to arrested Dunstan, but Dunstan quickly turned the tables on Musashi and send him flying into outer space, leaving God Ultimo to deal with Dunstan by himself. However, Dunstan blatantly and mockingly demonstrated his omnipresent powers to God Ultimo and the others, leaving the former particularly startled. After Dunstan explained the rules for the One Hundred Machine Funeral and disappeared, God Ultimo picked up God Sophia from space and then retired to for the day, with Ultimo staying at Hyoe's office as Yamato returned home to get ready for school.

Later in morning, Ultimo accompanied Yamato, Hyoe, and Darumada to his apartment to talk with his mother, Fushimi Agari. Wanting Ultimo live openly with him, Yamato was upfront with her about the One Hundred Machine Funeral and the Karakuri Dôji. Due the the outrageousness of the tale, Fushimi was understandably in disbelief and thought Yamato kidnapped the child-looking Ultimo, hitting her son as a result. Both Hyoe and Darumada vouched for Yamato and even promised to do favors in return for letting Ultimo stay at their home. However, Yamato disliked the thought of his mother greedily exploiting their friends, but they stated they didn't mind since it was best for Ultimo to always be near him. While the others argued, Ultimo stated that he didn't want to cause trouble to everyone and volunteered to stay at one of the Good Dôji Club's bases. Seeing Ultimo's sad expression, Fushimi relented and told everyone she will allow Ultimo live with them under one condition - he does all the housework. To prove himself, Ultimo cleaned the entire apartment and cooked a extravagant meal, all of which greatly pleased Fushimi. She agreed to let Ultimo stay and gleefully remarked that she considered Ultimo a "daughter" due to his androgynous appearance, much to Yamato's chagrin. Taking a walk outside with his master and friends, Ultimo was happily content with his new living arrangement, though Yamato grumbled about Fushimi's flippant demeanor, but Hyoe assured him that everything would be fine as along the he and Ultimo were together.

After Yamato remembered he was late for a meeting with Musashi to dicuss Eco's funeral, Ultimo and Yamato rushed over to Eco Sushi, but they found Musashi nowhere in sight. Sayama and Regla arrived to tell them that Musashi left with Sophia earlier, but didn't know where they went. Due to Ultimo being in his normal form, he was attracting attention from bystanders, which Sayama offered to help Yamato shop for clothes for him. However, Yamato deemed finding Musashi more important, and duo eventually discovered Musashi and Sophia being tortured by Vice in their ICON mode. To provide a chance for God Sophia to escape, Ultimo and Yamato drew Vice's attention to them and then used Time-Space manipulation to freeze his movements. Yamato asked Ultimo if he really wanted to settle things with his evil counterpart now, which he confirmed because it was the best strategic move in order to prevent more tragedy. Ultimo stated that Yamato has the final say in the matter and to make one quickly since his Noh required a lot of energy, leading the latter to remarked on that killing Vice off from the get-go wasn't right and they have to attend Eco's funeral soon. On Yamato's orders, Ultimo teleported all of them to the mountains and free Vice from his stasis for a short ICON skirmish. After enduring Vice's heavy hits, God Ultimo freeze Vice once more, with Ultimo reporting to Yamato that they received a lot of damage. He suggested that they kill Vice when he unable to move, though he acknowledged such tactics were cowardly. Yamato chide Ultimo for saying that beating Vice was more important than acting in an honorable manner, though he does acknowledged the logic in it. In consideration of the One Hundred Machine Funeral's rules, Yamato explained to Ultimo that killing Vice meant he won't be able to repent and they won't get him on their side, stressing that it would be like they were giving into evil if they behaved in such a way.

To halt Vice's battle-hungry attitude, God Ultimo kept him froze and placed a recovering K in tree as a message to Vice that he can't face Ultimo and Yamato on equal ground until his master was better. Leaving Ultimo's Noh on Vice to wear off naturally, the duo return home to get ready for Eco's funeral. Later at night, the two attended the ceremony, with Ultimo donned in proper human clothing, and met up with Musashi and Sophia. Ultimo quietly listen to Yamato discussing to discuss Dunstan and how to make all evil dôji come to their side. However, Yamato confessed that he doesn't understand the concept of good and evil, lamenting that he making Ultimo confused with his lack of clarity. Ultimo somberly told his master he didn't doubt his ideals, but rather blamed himself and commented that the reason Eco died was because he wasn't strong enough.

After the funeral, Ultimo returned home with Yamato and was requested to cook dinner since Fushimi wasn't here while he took a shower. Fushimi arrived back to the apartment soon after with shopping bags full of female clothes for Ultimo, who indulgingly allowed her to dressed him. Once Yamato saw what his mother was doing, he attempted to berate his mother, but Fushimi comically intimated Yamato into demanded letting her treat Ultimo in whatever way she wanted. Ultimo broke the tension by asking Yamato about humans' view of kissing, causing his master to get flustered and ran off to his room. While concerned that Yamato might get a cold since didn't have proper clothing, Fushimi told Ultimo that Yamato was tough and fondly confide in the dôji how Yamato would grow stronger due her "training". Further showing her love for Yamato, Fushimi revealed that she also brought some clothes for Yamato and requested Ultimo delivered to him, pleasing him into calling Fushimi "Mom-sama." Ultimo entered the room to see Yamato yelling in frustration over his shortcomings and comforted his master. Seeing Ultimo in a good mood, Yamato also lighten up and asked Ultimo to take off his clothes, wanting him to change into his usual outfit. As Yamato started to take off Ultimo's dress, Sayama, Akitsu Otake, and Kiyose Matsumoto walked in on them, stupefied them with scene of a nearly naked Yamato and Ultimo dressed like a girl. While everyone (except Ultimo) reeled from the overwhelming embarrassment, the girls told Ultimo and Yamato to pack a bag because they were going on a trip before being left alone to get ready. Once properly clothed, Ultimo and Yamato found Yoichi Oizumi and Musashi waiting with the rest of the Good Dôji Club, and was informed that they will going a "study trip" to learn more about each other and their enemies by time traveling to 1947 Japan. Hearing that Hibari Oume and Goge were also in trouble, Ultimo and the club traveled to Sparrow Place to save them from Vice.

The Good Dôji Club arrived in time stop Avaro from killing a gravely injured Hibari, with Ultimo using his Noh to stopped his evil brethren with his Noh. Noticing Vice underwent a power-up and achieved his Second form, Ultimo congratulated him, who tried to attack him. When Ultimo attempted to use his Noh to stop Vice mid-air, he was shocked to find Vice could still move and learned that he has the ability to steal the Noh of the other dôji. While composing himself being hit, Ultimo reminded his master to tend to Hibari first, but she urged everyone to flee since it was dangerous to use Noh in Vice's vicinity. However, Yamato refused to let his friend die and has Ultimo used his Noh to prevent her from losing more blood. After Musashi attempted make the first move against Vice, the latter noticed his intention and sliced off Musashi's hand, though Yamato and Ultimo drew Vice's attention before he could do any more damage. Before Vice could ready himself towards them, Ultimo was able to temporary freeze Vice long enough for Musashi to transformed his arm into a large gun and blasted him away. The group quickly fled into the van Yoichi rented for them and began time traveling to 1947, with God Ultimo carrying the van on their back in their Crane Plane form. While the others started discussing Vice's Noh stealing ability, Musashi pointing out that Vice could follow them since he stole Ultimo's Time-Space manipulation, but Ultimo stated that he didn't sense anyone following them.

Upon arriving to their destination, Yamato and Ultimo exited out of their ICON mode to survey the war-torn area, with Ultimo finding a doll among the wreckage. Sadden to see the immense destruction around him, Ultimo asked his master if war was evil, but Yamato somberly admitted he doesn't know as he once killed for a cause he believe was right. Ultimo and the group then quickly met with Hibari's past incarnation, mafia leader "Single-Shot" Hibari, and were taken to her home. As they get themselves settled, Ultimo and co. were surprised to learn that a "Future Yamato" and was the one that sent Hibari to them. . Since those who knew about the Future Yamato weren't allowed to reveal too much, everyone agreed with Musashi's suggestion of letting events play out as they should. Unknown to the masters, Ultimo and the other Karakuri Dôji sensed their evil brethren's presence in the area and went to investigate without telling their masters, though Ultimo let Yamato know that hw going out for the night. Ultimo and others learned their enemies traveled to 1944 because Vice did ended up stealing Ultimo's Noh and staying there for three years to train. In the morning, Ultimo, Regla, and Sophia decided to quietly watched over their masters, staying hidden in some goods that they were helping 1947 Hibari carry to the black market. After an older Hana and Edile appeared and attacked the group, Ultimo and others revealed themselves to protect their masters. After subduing the evil duo with his Noh, Ultimo listen to Yamato's proposal to try to get Hana and Edile to join them, though the others were against it. During the discussion, Ultimo and Yamato notice everyone had their time stopped by the Future Yamato, who was in a upgraded version of God Ultimo's Crane Plane.

The Future Yamato explained that this particular version of himself and Ultimo was created from the moment the 21st Century Yamato wanted to help Hana. Wanting to show the younger Yamato the future he must create, the Future Yamato transported him and Ultimo to The 30th Century, placing them in amidst a large-scale battle at Dunstan's tower. Ultimo and Yamato surprised by the sight of future versions of The Evil Dôji Branch fighting against Dunstan's robots, and by the fact they were treating the two as their ally. The future Evil Dôji Branch members notice the two and the future version of Rune clarify that the battle going on around them was their second attempt in defeating Dunstan because Vice went "wild" and ruin their first attempt. Rune revealed that Ultimo and Yamato will succeed uniting good and evil to beat Dunstan by realizing the importance of balance between the two. The Future Yamato also revealed God Ultimo Frontal Till Dawn, a ICON that combined the other good dôji]] together, and explained that Ultimo will evolve to match Vice. Noticing Sayama and Regla were missing, Yamato inquired their whereabouts, to which their directed his attention to Dunstan's last line of defense - his daughter Makoto Saya Dunstan. Before Sayama could attack them, Ultimo and Yamato were taken back by the Future Yamato to the exact moment they left 1947, with time flowing normally once again. Depressed by what they saw, Yamato dropped on his intention to recruit Hana and Edile before leaving with Ultimo in tow. While hanging around the city, Ultimo dressed in normal clothes and listen to Yamato sadly lamenting the truth of Sayama. Ultimo remarked the others will worry if they don't return to the house, but Yamato refused to go back to the others since he was unable to face her, which made Ultimo inwardly hoped that Yamato doesn't accept her.

Yoichi and Service then showed up, with the older man invited Yamato to a bar, allowing Yamato confide in him about everything he learned as Ultimo and Service stood aside to give them some space. Yoichi converse about the concepts of good and evil, and offered his personal opinion about Sayama, stating Sayama's guilt towards her parentage caused her to suffered. Realizing his own lack of sympathy, Yamato regained his spirit, with Ultimo flying after him, and dash out to find Sayama, understanding that he must forgive her in order to avoid her siding with Dunstan. However, Yamato and Ultimo were confronted by Fusataro Fussa and Rage, who wanted to get payback for Hana's defeat. The pair attempted to run past the evil duo, but Fussa stopped them by questioning Yamato's trust in Sayama and to forget keeping her on their side. When Fussa offered to join their side, claiming to only care about his personal interests, Ultimo expressed wary concern at this chance to recruit their enemies. After thinking it over, Yamato challenged Fussa and Rage with the wager of the loser joining the winner's side and agreed to Fussa's condition of not using ICONs. As the battle begin, Ultimo recognized that Rage was physically stronger after their first clash and requested Yamato let him use his Noh, but Yamato deemed Ultimo's Noh unfair, since Space-Time manipulation easily outclassed Rage’s electrical speed, and forbid his dôji from using. On his master’s orders, Ultimo attempted to overwhelmed Rage with speed, but Rage attacked using his electric Noh and greatly damaged Ultimo, to the point making collapsed from the pain.

As Yamato attempted to check on him, Ultimo weakly assured his master he could still fight, However, Rage continued to beat him down, sardonically telling the crimson dôji that he won’t give Ultimo time to get up, as per his nature as an evil dôji. As Ultimo loss consciousness, Rune and Jealous appeared and stopped the battle, giving Yamato time to retrieved him. When Yamato resisted Rune’s attempt to take them to Vice, the masters began arguing over their views of good and evil, leading Yamato have an philosophical epiphany. Since Rune and others weren’t paying attention to him, Yamato channeled his newfound mental and emotionally state into energy for Ultimo to completely heal unnoticed. Having followed them from a distance, Yoichi and Service also stepped in to reattached Yamato's arm that Jealous sliced off by using Service's Noh to manipulate Ultimo's Noh on Yamato's body.

As Ultimo raise from the ground, he retorted to Rune’s earlier comment about the nonexistent of good and evil, stating that good and evil does exist. Ultimo remarked that's why words for them exist and that humanity always sought to define them and struggle to live accordingly by these concepts. After Yamato challenged Rune to a battle, Ultimo and Yamato transformed into their ICON, revealing that former has attained his Second form - Ultimo Frontal Till Dawn - and was granted heighten abilities, allowing them to achieved ICON Level 2 as a result. Paying no mind to the frighten people below them, God Ultimo and Demon Jealous began their battle, with the former demonstrating how overwhelmingly powerful they was compared to Demon Jealous. While God Ultimo took the offensive, Jealous's Noh allowed their team to barely dodged them and was eventually caught God Ultimo in webs, but God Ultimo was able to grab hold of Demon Jealous's knife and prevent them from getting away. Yamato used this chance to pour his heart out to Rune and was able to successfully swayed his heart, but their moment was interrupted by Sayama, who planned to erase Ultimo's and Yamato's memories of their evolution. As God Ultimo and God Regla scuffled, Sayama conversed with Yamato distracting him long enough for Sayama to bring a smaller brush close to God Ultimo's face. . Before Sayama could erase his memories, Akitsu and Slow arrived in their ICON mode and kicked God Ultimo away from her, having overheard their conversation. As Musashi and Kiyose showed up with their Karakuri Dôji, everyone demanded Sayama explained her motives, listening to her revealing her resentment towards Dunstan and her desire to beat him by siding with Vice because she felt the club wasn't making any progress.

Soon after, members of the Evil Dôji Branch tactically ambushed God Ultimo's allies to give Sayama an opening use Regula's Noh on them, though they protected Musashi and Sophia from Mizho and Paresse to give them time to transformed into their ICON. Telling Musashi and the others to leave Sayama to him, God Ultimo faced off with God Regula once more and began training blows. Ultimo requested Yamato to let him uses his Noh, but Yamato didn't want to since they need to beat Sayama in a fair fight and he wanted to convey his sincerity towards her. Using their superior physical strength, God Ultimo was able to grasp God Regla's forearms, leading Yamato to convinced Sayama to join the club again and they hold ill-will over her machinations. Appearing in the ICON, Dunstan and Milieu emerged in front of God Ultimo and captured Sayama, announcing that the One Hundred Machine Funeral was nearly over and that he await him in The 30th Century. After Dunstan vanished, both sides ceased fighting and head back to their respective residents in order strategize their next move, though Ultimo and the Good Dôji Club took an unconscious Rune along and Fussa joined them as well. While the others were busy discussing over events, Ultimo snuck out to the city's water banks, knowing Vice was planning to strike at their weakest. Upon meeting up with Vice and his secondary master, Jun Chichibu, Ultimo assured his evil counterpart that he was alone because he didn't want Yamato to stop him from using his Noh.

Readying his Karakuri Hange, Ultimo stated that he was resolved to defeat evil, as per his nature as a good Karakuri Dôji, but Vice scoffed at his words. Vice compared Ultimo's attitude to be similar to the one that drove him to killed Lady Gekko, proclaiming that it was his "true nature" and that Ultimo was just like him. As Ultimo charged at them, Vice and Jun entered their ICON and dodged Ultimo enough for his Crane Sword to grazed them, with the former noticing the Vice has stolen Jealous's Noh to predict his movements. While Jun psychopathically expressed his pleasure of the battle, Ultimo observed that Vice paused of a second, but was unsure whether it was of Vice's own volition or his Noh at worked. After his second attempt, Ultimo was smacked hard by by the evil duo, but notice Vice hesitated slightly again when Jun expressed his desire to kill him. As Ultimo switched his method of attack, Jun used his hidden knife to sliced off Ultimo's arm, causing him to collapsed from his injuries. While Ultimo was down, Vice became so repulsed by Jun's psychopathic demeanor that he ejected Jun out of ICON mode, leaving Vice open to attack. Ultimo quickly took advantaged of this and stabbed Vice through the chest, who reacted with bitter amusement. In a rare moment of vulnerability, Vice opened up to Ultimo about how his created as the embodiment of evil and how he initially enjoyed the violence of it, but admitted that he began to loathed it and how it made him suffered. Vice remarked how alike he and Ultimo are, pointing out that his good counterpart will become more like him the more Ultimo choose not to forgive evil and that Ultimo himself was self-aware of this fact.

Enraged and disappointed towards Vice, Jun shoot an arrow at him, which also dislodged the former from Ultimo's Crane Sword and caused the crimson dôji to fall on the ground. While witnessing K's arrival and the brewing intragroup conflict, Yamato and the able-bodied members of The Good Dôji Club appeared to the scene, with Ultimo swiftly apologizing to his master for acting on his own. Yamato forgave Ultimo and told his dôji that they must prepare to save Sayama and travel to the future. With his master near, Ultimo recovered from his wounds and got back on his feet, just in time for the ever prideful Vice remind Ultimo and Yamato never agree to side with them. Knowing the only way for Vice to fully submit to them, Ultimo and Yamato engaged in one last (off-screen) fight with and came out victorious. With Vice successfully converting him into their side and, by extension, the rest of The Evil Dôji Branch, Ultimo and Yamato has both sides focused on training for their impending battle with Dunstan for a time. Once they were ready, the masters and their Karakuri Dôji head to Dunstan's tower in the the 30th Century. Following Vice's cue, the siege at Dunstan's tower commenced and Ultimo and Yamato entered into their combined ICON mode with the rest of the good dôji.

As they near the tower, Dunstan personally confronted God Ultimo and Demon Vice, launching a powerful attack that would have destroy them in one hit. Fortunately, Ultimo used his Noh and had their future counterparts switching places with them, allowing himself and everyone else able to survived the attack. Dunstan was impressed by God Ultimo's display, though he quipped that if God Ultimo truly believed they could beat him. God Ultimo retorted that he and the masters didn't want to beat him, but merely showed that they learned Dunstan's lesson of accepting good and evil as a whole, and importance of always striving to walk a straight path. To show proof of their realization, God Ultimo has all the masters to gathered around them and began fusing Ultimo and Vice's souls together. As the Good Dôji Club started fusing Ultimo and Vice's spirit spheres, the Evil Dôji Branch attacked Dunstan and Milieu to covered them from any interferences, which also allowed Yamato to saved Sayama so that she can help complete the fusion and create Ideos Ultimo - a form that symbolize of the unity between good and evil. With the unveiling of Ultimo's new form, Yamato explained that he deduced that Dunstan always knew that to prevent the future destruction of the world that humans needed to know ultimate good and evil. Pleased by both sides' realization, Dunstan praised them for their efforts and revealed the real reason of his experiment was indeed to save the future from its destruction.

Dunstan then forcefully dispelled everyone else from their ICONs and immobilize the dôjis, leading all the masters to free fall in the air. In order to move on to the phrase of his experiment, Dunstan used Time-Space manipulation to transported Ultimo and the others to the 21th Century and turned back time to May 5, though allowing everyone to keep their memories in tact. Instead of having the Karakuri Dôji keeping their robotic forms, Dunstan choose to turn Ultimo and his brethren in humans. Likely as a prank on Yamato, Dunstan kept Ultimo out of his sight when the young man woke back in the 21st Century, even keeping Ultimo out of his glass case at the Kokubundo Shoppe. When Yamato and his friends were at the shop, Sayama explained to everyone that her father's experiment was still going on and the dôjis must also be presented continue it. Sayama then told Yamato that Ultimo was behind him, making the latter turned back to see Ultimo in the previously empty glass case. After Ultimo gleefully burst out of the case to embraced his master, Yamato became more bewildered when Taiji Kokubun fretting over the broken glass and questioned what the teens were doing to his "grandson". Sayama explained Yamato and the rest of their friends that she used Regla's Noh to manipulate Kokubun's memories to make him believe Ultimo was his grandchild and that Dunstan has turned all the dôjis into humans. Afterwards, Ultimo began a new life with Yamato, continuing to live with his beloved master and adjusting to living as a human.

Relationships

Vice

Just as Ultimo is the incarnation of the ultimate good, Vice is the incarnation of ultimate evil. The two together were originally created to finally provide an answer to the question of which is stronger, good or evil.

This pits them in a constant state of conflict with each other over the differences in their actions and ideals, it is the resulting battles that act as the central plot of the manga's story. Despite that, Ultimo still speak to Vice in a polite tone, even when threatening him.

At the end of the series, Ultimo and Vice are able to come to an understanding each other and on much friendlier terms, allowing them to synchronize with each other to beat Dunstan and end the One Hundred Machine Funeral.

Yamato Agari

Yamato has been the master of Ultimo through out all the eras in which the series occurs, and it is his love that allows Ultimo to unlock the true potential of his abilities. According to Goge, it was because Yamato's love for people that he cares about was the reason Ultimo chose him to be his master.

He is shown to be very protective of Yamato, to the point of almost killing whoever was hurting him, and is eager to please him. Ultimo enjoys being intimate with Yamato, always hugging him when he gets the chance and blushes when Yamato picks him up, once even asked if Yamato would like him to wash his back when he was taking a shower. Ulitmo is also quite possessive of Yamato, which is one of the reasons why he killed Lady Gekko in the past, although, he regrets what he did and appears ashamed when someone mentions it to the 21th century Yamato, who didn't know at first. However, he was happy when the both the past and present Yamato forgave him for what he done.

At the end of the series, after Dunstan turns Ultimo into a human, Yamato and Ultimo continues to live together.

Abilities

As Ultimo is a robot, he has displayed far greater physical strength, resilience and agility than those possessed by a normal human.

Time and Space Manipulation

As the summit of "good", Ultimo's Noh allows him to alter and manipulate the flow of both time and space, to the extent that he can distort either of these properties to even reverse an opponent's attack or any damage Ultimo or his allies has sustain.

He normally uses this to distort time in such a way where he could perform his Karakuri Henge at speeds where the opponents have no time to react. He also uses this ability to alter space to seemingly "teleport" quickly. When Ultimo "stop" someone's time, they are frozen still, much like statues and even midair they are stuck the position they are frozen in. Due to this, his enemies are completely defenseless until Ultimo choose to negated it, it is cancel out, or in simply wears off.

Karakuri Henge

Ultimo Lion Mouth

Lion Mouth

  • Lion Mouth (Shishi Guchi): This transformation involves Ultimo converting his right arm into a shape closely resembling an ornate depiction of a Japanese Shishi. However, unlike the typical appearance of a lion, this instead is adorned with a tusk on either side of its face. The arm itself functions as a blunt impact weapon; using its large mass and area to significantly magnify the already formidable blows Ultimo is capable of dealing.
    • Lion Dance (獅子舞, Shishi Mai): A very graceful yet potent punch, that combines the full extent of both Ultimo’s strength and agility, to produce a strike which is powerful enough to damage even Vice’s Demon Mask form.
    • Lion Punch (Shishi Nagurimasu): An attack that has only been displayed in the pilot chapter. It is an extremely powerful strike that upon contact releases a strong and wide ranging blast, not only serving to damage but also to cleanse an evil target, resulting in them subsequently turning to dust.
Crane Sword

Crane Sword

  • Crane Sword (Tsurugi): This transformation alters Ultimo's left arm into the form of a elegant blade, that is many times larger than himself. The shape of the blade is styled like a Crane's beak and even with its large size, Ultimo wields it with both extreme precision and speed.
    • Crane Lifespan One Thousand Decapitation (Kakujusenzan): A simple and swift horizontal slash, that is extremely effective, being able to slice Vice's resilient robotic form into two with relative ease.
  • Heavenly Fireworks: Unusually, this transformation involves Ultimo’s legs rather than his arms, converting them into multiple enormous rockets. By subsequently igniting these, he is not only able to obtain speeds in excess of supersonic proportions but also enough thrust to launch both himself and an opponent high into the stratosphere. However, the large blast associated with ignition makes this technique unsuitable in crowded areas, where others may be at risk. This technique was first demonstrated within Chapter 0.

Second Form

Second Form Ultimo

Ideos Ultimo is highest level of power that he can achieve and this form has a phoenix motif, which symbolizes immortality and reincarnation, and the spiral of good and evil. In this form, Ultimo does not have a ICON that can originate from it because the Ideos form represents the unity of good and evil, therefore it symbolize that there is no reason to fight anymore.

In this form, Ultimo undergoes a drastic change in appearance, his skin become brown and his hair turns bright yellow with a large blue streak in the front. Ultimo also gains skeletal, wing-like armor that he wears through his arms and hovers in front of his bare chest and large, white gauntlets with ornate flower images. Ultimo wears a white hakama with golden tassels and a ornate crane printed, tied by a white sash. A large piece of bright blue fabric hangs from the center of the sash, embellished with the image of a golden phoenix. According Makoto Sayama, Ideos Ultimo looks even more human than he did before attaining this form.

ICON

God Ultimo

God Ultimo

God Ultimo

God Ultimo is Ultimo's full body ICON transformation that was used and developed by he and Yamato in the 12th century, which simultaneously alters Ultimo's form while integrating Yamato into this new shape, using the Robot Crest to initiate the technique by previously establishing direct contact with Ultimo. This new state assumes the form of a gigantic humanoid robot, standing at over three stories tall, that is entirely composed of artificial appearing constructs and is color red and white with green eyes.

Taking his usual characteristics, Ultimo's hands reminiscent his normal gauntlets and wears a helmet that resembles the rising sun. His facial features are accented by depressions that not only surround each eye, but continue downwards from the center with a straight line. Prominent spikes extend from his chest, back and shoulders, which give the appearance of an origami crane, concealing two individual thrusters and a long flowing transparent cape underneath. His lower legs contain numerous ornate designs, such as clouds and cranes. Near his elbows and knees joints there are multiple appearances of a symbol consisting of three tomoe and Ultimo wears a dark-color sash on his lower section. God Ultimo's overall design reflects Dunstan's interest in Japan.

Crane plane

Crane Plane

  • Crane Plane: Another form of Ultimo's ICON, that changes Ultimo into a crane-styled plane that can travel through time at a great speed. It can travel one year in approximately 3.65 seconds. However, Ultimo mentions time travel requires a lot of energy, so how far they can travel depends on the strength of Ultimo's bond with his master.
  • Barrier: This unnamed technique allows the creation of an instantaneous barrier surrounding the entirety of God Ultimo, which is capable of completely negating the effects of powerful attacks.
  • Time-Slash Dance (Tokigiri no Mai): A transformation, conducted while in God Ultimo form, that converts both hands into large fans. This ability allows full access to Ultimo's time and space manipulation powers, to literally blast away a portion of the opponent's time, reverting them to their former states.
  • Great Crane Sword: A more powerful version of Crane Sword with a longer blade, but this has used with the right arm instead of the left arm.
  • Joint Lion Mouth: A more powerful version of Lion Mouth where God Ultimo's arm changes into three guardian lions, which are capable of reverberation.

Yamato God Ultimo GUFTD

Yamato GUFTD (God Ultimo Frontal Till Dawn) is a full body Level 2 ICON transformation that alters Ultimo's form once the master and dôji's will reach a unification of 95% or higher, unlocking his most powerful form. This the final ICON form for when Ultimo is in his "second form", which he is obtain after Yamato finally understand good and evil, and refines it towards love.

Although twice as large, this ICON form still resembles his normal ICON, including sun-like helmet with a extra spiky arc sun-like structure behind the head, a smaller origami crane-shape torso, and ornate design of cranes, clouds, and a sun on his legs. Ultimo's new powerful form is reflected with additional jet components, including turbines, wings, and missile launchers, placed largely on the backside of the ICON. Thanks to the turbines, GUFTD is able to move at much higher speeds than God Ultimo, including both travel speed and reflexes, able to easily grapple with the other dôjis' Level 2 ICON. This transformation's most powerful ability is to combine with other members of The Good Dôji Club, taking on certain parts of his allies' ICON components as the combine with GUFTD, who acts as the core body. GUFTD notably wears a thick Shimenawa rope, which is use to ward off evil spirits, around his torso.

  • Crane Plane: In this state, the Crane Plane is much larger and likely much faster. Due to the additional turbines and armament, GUFTD Crane Plane has more bulky appearance than the normal Crane Plane.
